Fabien Novarino was born in Chambery but settled with his family in the south of France at an early age. There, the light of the region impressed him and had a lasting influence on his work. At age 27 he decided to become a full time painter and his distinctive style is instantly recognizable. He is a master of the palette knife and his work reverbarates with life and generosity. It blends strength with subtlety, depth with delicacy, solidity with poetry while his deep color and strong contrasts capture the landscapes of Provence.
