fleche bleue Deymonaz André Artists List

Born in Casablanca, the son of a sailor and the youngest of five children - all of whom became painterly artists - André Deymonaz developed a taste for travels and colors at an early age.
A self-taught painter, his career as an acclaimed artist happened almost by accident. Painting has become second nature to him. With such an overwhelming passion and an increasingly wide adoring public, he decided to devote himself full time to his art in 1986.
Deymonaz is a sensitive colorist who states his values strongly and works the paste with solid and smooth knife strokes, re-creating a wonderfully primeval feel and inviting us to share his joy in everydays life. Meeting the artist in person is a unique experience.
Andre Deymonaz spent his childhood in the Pacific islands and the Var region of France where the sun radiates with peace. He knows how to capture light on canvas in the best tradition of the Impressionists. He brings the colors and atmosphere of Tahiti in the same way Paul Gauguin did in earlier days. Closer to France each of his paintings captures a moment and depicts a particular scene in the life of characters cherished by the artist: grape and olive harvesters, shepherds, fishermen, farmers, card players, bartenders, waiters in white shirts, elegant ladies biking or sitting at the bar, conversing patrons of a restaurant or on a terrace, jazz musicians, classical orchestras with determined conductors. Andre Deymonaz shows the keen and inquisitive eye of a reporter, constantly looking for authentic characters to sketch. A mature and accomplished artist with a bright future.
